Wideband SATCOM SME

Title:

KBR is seeking a Wideband Satellite Communication System Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Headquarters Space Operations Command (HQ SpOC) Deputy Commanding General Operations (DCGO) SATCOM Team located at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs CO. An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this job.

The HQ SpOC generates presents and sustains combatready intelligence cyber space and combat support forces and serves as the USSF Service Component to USSPACECOM.

A strong candidate has a comprehensive knowledge of Wideband satellite communications systems satellite transmissions management satellite system control and operational procedures. In this position you will:

• Provide operations sustainment and engineering technical analysis and support for the SpOC Enterprise SATCOM architecture for Wideband SATCOM systems
• Review coordinate and advise on SATCOM operating processes and procedures and provide technical support of material system development and fielding
• Provide technical operational/engineering expertise for resolution of operational issues/problems related to space ground and terminal segments
• Develop and interpret broad DOD Space and Satellite communications policies and regulations existing policies and regulations in relation to HQ USSF program goals and objectives

• Provide analysis and recommended methods for improving efficiency of satellite communications functions through modifications and applications of evolving technology developing tactics techniques and procedures

• Analyze technical functions of satellite payloads and ground station architectures especially in the areas of Spectrum Management and ElectroMagnetic Interference Resolution
• Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Required Skills/Experience:

• An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this job which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
• 3 years of SATCOM Wideband experience: Wideband Consolidated SATCOM System Expert (CSSE) Wideband Satellite Operations Center (WSOC) USASMDC SIOD (SATCOM Integrated Operations Division) 53 SOPS 4 SOPS or Regional SATCOM Support Center (RSSC).
• Headquarters level staffing experience
• Experience with providing strategic advice technical guidance analysis and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare quality products including briefings and staff packages for senior leaders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and turn staff products rapidly in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work with both internal and external senior leaders offices directorates and action officers.
• Able to work with and appropriately protect classified and proprietary information
• Methodical mindset: Able to follow troubleshooting protocols solve problems and clearly document solutions
• Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Wideband SATCOM systems/platforms (e.g. DSCS WGS)
• Headquarters experience in the US Space Force US Air Force Combatant Command Space Operations Command Space Systems Command or equivalent
• Experience with Joint or Servicelevel strategy and/or concept development
• Experience with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes
• BA/BS Degree

Compensation:

$105000 $120000

This range is for Colorado only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours

Work Environment:

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
