Job Description

Extended School Year Elementary Special Education Teacher

Reports To: ESY Coordinator

Danvers Public Schools is seeking an Extended School Year Elementary Special Education Teacher for the ESY program. This is a nonbenefited parttime seasonal position for the 2025 summer. This is a MondaythroughThursday program running from July 7 2025 to August 7 2025

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate patient and experienced Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team during the Extended School Year Program (ESY) for students with disabilities.

In this role you will work with students in grades K5 who have various disabilities and learning challenges.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering individualized and small group instruction that meets the unique needs of each student while fostering a positive inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct individualized and small group instruction to meet students academic social and emotional needs.

Use a variety of instructional methods including visual auditory and handson techniques to engage students with diverse learning styles.

Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to encourage positive student behavior and emotional regulation.

Create a structured safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student confidence independence and selfadvocacy.

Collaborate with support staff including speech therapists occupational therapists and school psychologists to develop and implement specialized services for students.

Complete required documentation including progress reports in a timely and accurate manner.
