Job Description:
L3Harris Broadband Communications is seeking a Material Handler for their team in Salt Lake City UT. In this role you will pick material pack materials count materials weigh materials measure materials and inventory materials.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the receiving storing picking and distribution of materials parts supplies and equipment rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Verifies quantity weight and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
- Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- May lift heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks forklifts etc. upon receipt of internal certification
- Remains stationary for for extended periods of time
- Checking the quality and condition of incoming materials before they are accepted into inventory
- Keeping accurate records of inventory levels organizing stock in the warehouse and performing cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Storing materials in an organized manner within a warehouse or storage facility ensuring that items are placed in the correct location for easy retrieval
- Selecting and preparing materials for shipment or production which includes picking the correct items and packing them securely
- Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks hand trucks or automated retrieval systems to move materials safely
- Adhering to workplace safety standards and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries
- Completing paperwork or digital records related to shipping receiving and inventory management
- Working with other team members and departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials through the supply chain
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by organizing work areas and disposing of waste properly
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in shipments or inventory and reporting any issues to supervisors
- Being available to work overtime including early mornings late evenings weekends or holidays as needed to meet operational demands and ensure that all material handling tasks are completed within required timeframes
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postSecondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Identify issues and come up with practical solutions in a dynamic warehouse environment.
- Efficiently managing time to fulfill various tasks throughout the day to meet deadlines and productivity goals.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems databases and basic computer skills
- The ability to adapt to changing schedules tasks and environments
- Accurate recordkeeping for inventory control tracking shipments and ensuring compliance with regulations
