Amazon Digital Acceleration (DA) is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team of Senior SDETs and Principle Engineers in building highly visible robust automation tools and framework to tackle hard to solve problems. DA enables Amazon device and subscription businesses to innovate faster and deliver more for customers while ensuring reliability scale security and cost efficiency by building services and tools that are selfserviceable and configurable.
We are looking for a SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to help architect design build and test improvements to mission critical systems that power customer subscriptions at Amazon. The Digital commerce team handles complexities of managing all digital subscriptions across Amazon including Amazon Prime Kindle Unlimited Audible Music and Video using the latest in highavailability services and distributed systems.
Key job responsibilities
To be successful in this position you will have:
A strong background in algorithms data structures Java and databases both SQL and NoSQL.
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely (both written and orally) and work well in a team are key competencies.
You should be able to quickly adapt to new development environments learn new systems create reliable and maintainable code and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.
Experience working with hightraffic scalable services is a plus.
A day in the life
As a Quality champion on the engineering team you will get the opportunity to own major deliverable at all phases of the development cycle: scoping design coding and testing using an agile process. Youll write and implement test plans that root out bugs and design flaws in our systems so that we can resolve them before they make it to production. Youll build frameworks that allow the team to write reliable targeted and extensible tests to support a fastgrowing feature set in our Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Youll have an opportunity to work with other teams throughout Amazon to flesh out crossteam requirements and designs. Youll also put your experience expertise and creativity to work in determining/recommending the best designs based on business objective timeline and resource constraints.

We process billions of digital purchases every year and enable our digital businesses to grow their businesses worldwide. 2 years of noninternship professional software development testing experience
1 years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design
Experience in penetration testing and exploitabilityfocused vulnerability assessment
Experience in platformlevel security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows
Knowledge of overall system architecture scalability reliability and performance in a database environment
Experience with security in serviceoriented architectures and web services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
