Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree required
  • Supervisor MidManagement preferred
  • Minimum three years of administrator experience or regional education service center management position preferred
  • Experience in coordination among general education and special education programs to ensure cohesive services for students with disabilities
  • Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (e.g. word processing electronic spreadsheets) and email
  • Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management file management and operations and working in a network environment
  • Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills training and record of success

Position Responsilbilites:

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION #1: Executive Coaching and Systems Level Change: Support school systems to understand design and implement systems change that integrate supports and resources for students with disabilities into new and existing systems within the school.
  • Activities:
  • o Work with LEA leadership teams to increase the knowledge skills and motivation of LEA teams utilizing a fidelity of implementation rubric for systems change.
  • o Jointly facilitate meetings with LEA leadership teams using the gradual release process which includes current state analysis multiyear strategic planning goal setting and implementation planning.
  • o Utilize data analysis and LEA input to create a plan for systems change that includes sustainability of progress to identify a problem reflect critically on enduser input root causes and potential solutions and maintain a cadence of internal accountability.
  • o Align LEA strategic goals activities and priorities with the Texas Education Agency (TEA and ESC ecosystem of support.
  • o Curate statewide resources tailored to the LEAspecific needs to support the implementation of MTSS and Inclusion.
  • o Ensure quality data collection and submission of metrics and other applicable project reporting.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION #2: Collaboration: Manage support and/or collaborate directly with TEA ESC and LEA staff to develop and disseminate effective resources products and materials that areintentionally designed to support school systems to understand design and implement effective systemslevel change.
  • Activities:
  • o Support LEAs with Inclusion or MTSS systemslevel change management by providing executivelevel coaching and supporting the LEA with facilitated continuous improvement.
  • o Coordinate or provide LEA leadership learning opportunities through targeted professional development implementation of support coaching related to Inclusion and MTSS and ongoing connection and integration of Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL) Effective Schools Framework (ESF) Effective Districts Framework (EDF) HighQuality Instructional Materials (HQIM) Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL) any other TEA initiatives and resources/services provided by the ESC.
  • o Embed appropriate use of collaborative problemsolving to achieve program goals (i.e. Design Thinking 4 Disciplines of 4DX) processes executive systems coaching).
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTION #3: Professional Development:SILs continuously engage in their own growth and learning by attending and engaging in highquality professional development.
  • Activities:
  • o Obtain all required certifications as a SIL including but not limited to systemslevel coaching change management and MTSS or Inclusion.
  • o Prioritize protect and attend all required ESC SIL week activities and participate in feedback loops and collaborative activities that connect policy and practice statewide. A maximum of three 3 SILweek days may be missed for reasons other than personal leave with advanced approval from the TEA grant program manager. These days are not required to be consecutive.
  • o Engage in routine collaboration and coaching with the TEA and Lead SILs.
  • o Participate in ongoing professional development to build leadership communication skills and content knowledge to support continuous improvement and growth mindset.
  • o Participate and demonstrate content knowledge specifically connected to statewide initiatives such as Tiered Interventions using EvidenceBased Research (TEIR) Inclusion school accountability and improvement frameworks TIL and other TEAaligned projects.
  • Reporting/Accountability
  • o During year one the TEA will work to develop metrics determining how best to collect and report data consistently around SIL support and coaching. SILs will be expected to regularly collect and report data through Qualtrics or other data reporting platforms.
  • Travel to districts within ESC 8 is ongoing; however ESC SILs travel to meet collaboratively six times a year for up to a week to obtain professional development and develop metrics to support the ongoing work of the position

Center Responsibilites:

  • Process all personal timekeeping travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position
  • Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  • Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
  • Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
  • Exhibit professionalism in all situations at the ESC
  • Develop collaborative and positive relationships with schools and coworkers
  • Exhibit planning and leadership on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit innovative thinking
  • Keep supervisor advised of all pertinent financial and operations business
  • Ability to handle constructive criticism in a positive manner
  • Evidence of followingup and followingthrough with services
  • Evidence of professional loyalty
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
