QUALIFICATIONSRequired:English/Literacy License Subject Specific Endorsement or enrolled in Alternative Program leading to license issued by Arkansas Department of EducationAt least three years of experience as a classroom teacherMust satisfactorily complete Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check.Desired:Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/guardians the community institutions of higher education business leaders and administrative staff.Strong knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction program evaluation evidence of classroom effectiveness budget management and data analysis.Demonstrated knowledge of state/federal regulations and accreditation requirements governing public education programs.Ability to communicate oral and/or written ideas and directives clearly and effectively POSITION DESCRIPTION:To implement and deliver an appropriately broad balanced relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriateTo monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a TeacherTo facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potentialTo contribute to raising standards of student attainmentTo share and support the schools responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growthImplements and delivers an appropriately broad balanced relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriateMonitors and supports the overall progress and development of students as a TeacherFacilitates and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potentialContributes to raising standards of student attainmentShare and Support the schools responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growthUndertakes a designated program of teaching across all Key StagesTeaches consistently high quality lessonsPlans and deliver schemes of work and lessons that meet the requirements of grades 712Inspires student to be actively interested in EnglishMaintains appropriate records and to provide relevant accurate and uptodate informationCompletes the relevant documentation to assist in the tracking of studentsSets expectations for staff and students in relation to standards of achievement and the quality of learning & teachingPrioritizes and manage time effectively ensuring continued professional development in line with the roleFollows the school policies and proceduresEnsures the effective/efficient deployment of classroom supportMaintains discipline in accordance with the school procedures and to encourage good practice with regard to punctuality behavior standards of work and homeworkFollows schemes of work for English at all Key StagesPromotes aspects of Personal Development related to EnglishUpdates professional knowledge and expertise as appropriate to keep up to date with developments in teaching practice and methodology in general and in the curriculum area of EnglishPromotes English learning through out of hours activitiesEnsures a high quality learning environment within the English areaLeads monitors and evaluates the assessment and feedback to students in line with whole school and department policyGrades and gives written/verbal and diagnostic feedback as requiredContinues personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methodsTakes part in the staff development program by participating in arrangements for further training and professional developmentAssesses records and report on the attendance progress development and attainment of students and to keep such records as are required
