The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is seeking an experienced innovative and flexible Special Educator to join our new internal program. The special education teacher will be an integral part of our new alternative program team working collaboratively with the BCBA other educators and professionals and supporting students with intensive needs. The program is rooted in the understanding that emotional dysregulation for some students creates learning barriers that get in the way of allowing them access to their education. The special educator will case manage and provide direct instruction to students with intensive needs and assist with supervising supporting paraeducators. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and implementing specialized instruction completing evaluation reports preparing IEPs transition plans scheduling and facilitating parent meetings collaborating with related service providers and outside agencies. The Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union ElementaryMiddle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K8 elementary schools the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program and Lake Region Union High School.Orleans Central Supervisory Union is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom which is known for scenic and rugged area of hills sugarbushes farmland and lakes.
