Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Film/Media Arts Teacher Tybee Island Maritime Academy
REPORTS TO: Principal
WORK DAYS: 190
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide inperson instruction for students that enables them to learn and achieve to the maximum of their abilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Educational Level: Bachelors Degree
2. Certification/License Required: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
3. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
4. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Communication; Instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; student management.
Duties and Responsibilities
TIMA is seeking a dynamic talented Film Teacher.
- In depth knowledge of the craft of screenwriting including proper formatting.
- knowledge of the basic principles of preproduction and production management.
- Full knowledge of the basic principles of cinematography including but not limited to composition exposure color temperature as well as the craft and techniques involved with lighting for video.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of editing fiction and nonfiction video projects.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of soundrecording and mixing.
- Knowledge of the following computer applications iMovie Final Cut Pro Adobe Creative Studio.
- Implement film production curriculum
- Assist with Performing Arts performances and/or Middle School Film shoots in whatever capacity needed
- Continuing professional development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Flexibility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to children their parents and colleagues
- Participates in personal professional development in the area of teaching as well as film production and film making.
