Job Description

Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator Launceston
  • Key coworking Infection Prevention and Control role within a small Quality and Risk Management team

About the role
The Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator will be responsible for providing operational leadership and management within Calvary St Vincents and St Lukes campuses to ensure high standards of infection prevention and control practices to ensure positive patient outcomes and a safe environment for patients visitors and staff.
Duties within the role may include project assessment monitoring evaluation and reporting on IPC risks and outcomes. This is in conjunction with maintaining relevant accreditation standards relating to infection prevention control.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop implement evaluate and report on key IPC activities to meet the requirements of local state and national protocols and guidelines
  • Undertake surveillance investigations and audits including regular reporting and feedback to staff
  • Provide collaborative leadership and expert advice pertaining to organisational IPC risks including outbreak and contact tracing events
What you bring
  • Registered Nurse with postgraduation experience
  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HICMR ACHS quality improvement and risk management
  • Person centred approach to supporting staff & patients in communicating IPC risks and system features
  • Highly developed skills in communication (verbal written and IT) problem solving & conflict resolution
  • An ability to demonstrate leadership skills work as part of the team work effectively under pressure and prioritise workload
