Thank you for your interest in the post of trove.scot Product Manager with Historic Environment Scotland that will be based in Edinburgh. This is a fixed term position.
In this role you will be the Product Manager fortrove.scot an ambitious externally facing website platform which launched in 2025. You will lead the continuous improvement of the website to increase engagement with Scotlands heritage improve access to our records and statutory decisionmaking processes and enable income generation.

Key Responsibilities of this role
- Lead the delivery of the trove.scot product and its success as HESs new flagship platform for the organisations data records and archives
- Be the daytoday decisionmaker for the product
- Be the public (internal and external) face and goto person for the product
- Own and implement the forward strategies for trove.scot including a strategic and sustainable roadmap Continuous Improvement Plan and curation of the backlog
- Advocate for funding expand routes for income generation and manage the trove.scot budget
- Champion user research continuous improvement and dataled decisions to shape the product for meeting user needs
- Manage the relationship with trove.scot suppliers
- Work with the suppliers and IT to ensure that Service Level Agreements are adhered to
- Manage dependencies with IT projects that relate to trove.scot or systems that feed into it
- Lead on the integration of new data sources and develop links between trove.scot and external peer bodies
- Line management of the trove.scot team
- Management and reporting on trove.scot KPIs and benefits realisation
- Coordinate the product marketing across the relevant teams including Marketing and Communications
- Provide input into trove.scot content design including the creation of user guides and help material
- Influence inspire and help the members of the team building their skills and achieving goals along the way.
- You will be open to flexible ways of working to accommodate individual needs within the team while ensuring the business need is met.
Key requirements of the role:

Essential:
- Proven experience of leading and delivering userfocussed projects
- Experience of working with heritage information data and / or archives
- An understanding of the importance of historic environment information to our external audiences and our colleagues
- Supplier engagement and management
- Working in an Agile development methodology including working in Sprints and writing user stories/acceptance criteria
- Ability to take on responsibility and use your own initiative to prioritise and work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Proven negotiating and influencing skills to build partnerships and relationships
- Ability to engage professionally and positively with all business areas (to a senior level) and provide credible advice
- Ability to understand and solve problems
- Proven people skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
