We are currently recruiting an Assistant Educator to join our Team inInnisfil at the following location:St. Andre Bessette CS.
Pay Range: Assistant $19.61 $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant $2.00/hr).
Position Type & Required Availability:
- FullTime Full Day Position 40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a 8hour shift MondayFriday to be considered.

Position Summary:
To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Supports the organizations vision mission and guiding values. This is a fully incentre position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Applies current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Cares program statement.
- Participates in professional development opportunities staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks toileting diapering dressing etc.
- Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children.
- Completes program charts daily logs reports and other administration tasks as required.
- Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members school personnel and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
- Provides guidance to students and volunteers as needed.
- Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A recent Vulnerable Sector Check
- Health assessment and record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
- Uptodate certification in CPRC and Standard First Aid
- Basic knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation and with the use of pedagogical documentation an asset.
- Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm professional manner.
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families coworkers and other professionals.
- Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
- Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce and Storypark.
- Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling pushing pulling bending and carrying.
