Position: 2nd shift CNC Lathes Set Up Machinist (Hours are: MTh 1:30pm to Midnight)

Job Description
Wisconsin Metal Tech Inc. located in Richfield WI is is a privatelyowned familyoriented custom machining company that develops and manufactures high precision criticaltofunction components. This is accomplished through four key disciplines: material sourcing unique process development strategic business focus and caring for our customers like partners. The company is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that will include both organic and acquisition growth. Our CNC Set Up Operators play an important role in the of this strategy.

Job requirements:
  • Perform CNC Lathe Set up Operations: Conduct all setup and quality operations in support of machining for self and others. Set ups are complex. Only those who are highly experienced in lathe complex set ups should apply.
  • Setup and Operate machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings specifications etc..
  • Create edit and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.
  • Use company documentation (Blueprints SetUp Sheets Control Plans etc. to: manufacture product that meets quality requirements.
  • Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection. If nonconforming process via nonconforming material procedures.
  • Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. Advise supervision of issues that arise.
  • A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze challenge and change processes if needed to create a more efficient environment and culture.
  • Correctly process work via required procedures and process control system. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Perform nonCNC tasks when necessary: nonCNC equipment operation handwork operations inspections sawcut operations etc.
  • Able to do offset compensations and conditional switches; calculating requirements including basic math geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations and clean work environment.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.

Skills and Experience:
  • 5 years experience CNC lathe setups. Only those who are highly experienced in complex lathe set ups should apply.
  • Ability to read & understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation.
  • Ability to use various inspection gages.
  • Firm understanding of Gcode CNC programs including formatting and editing.
  • Experience in use of Haas and swiss type CNC equipment a plus. Ability to learn new techniques and be crosstrained in other roles
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Forklift certification a plus
