DescriptionWe are looking for a Junior Plan Approval Engineerto be part of our Maritime Service Center (MSC)team in Piraeus Greece.
The Maritime Service Center established in 2000 and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year provides a wide range of services in DNVs Region of South East Europe:
- Plan approval for ships in service
- Newbuilding precontract services
- Condition Assessment Program (CAP) services for Hull Machinery and Cargo Handling systems as well as fatigue calculations
- DNV Academiesservices
This position will be part of a team of nine 9 Plan Approval Engineers reporting directly to the Head of the Plan Approval Section.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to reviewing ship design plans for compliance with classification and statutory regulations.
- Participate in team efforts to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in the plan approval process.
- Continuously develop expertise in classification rules industry standards and technical methodologies through training and development opportunities.

QualificationsPosition Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree preferably in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized University.
A relevant Masters degree will be highly valued. - Approximately 12 years of experience in the maritime industry preferably in a plan approval unit of another classification society or a consultancy office
- Experience in a shipping company will be considered an advantage
- Basic knowledge of classification and statutory requirements and related services
- Basic knowledge of relevant software tools and systems

- Customeroriented with a good understanding of plan approval practices and processes
- Organized/Structured with an eye for details
- Flexibility regarding work tasks ability to adapt to the situation
