POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Product Development Scientist will provide technical support for customers in the Custom Flavor Solutions business segment. The Associate Scientist will support seasoning development testing and commercialization for industrial customers with a variety of finished product applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting innovative seasoning development through the development cycle (concept development/ideation hands on benchtop development product performance testing and commercialization)
• Providing excellent product development support for industrial customers
• Designing and managing experiments
• Investigating and assessing new ingredients and technologies for seasoning product development improvement
• Collecting and interpreting test data
• Developing and applying knowledge of seasoning ingredients and flavors their major vendors and performance attributes (including flavor functionality and quality)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS and/or MS Degree in Food Science/Technology Food Engineering Chemistry or a closely related discipline
• Minimum one year of product development experience (Internships Coops and Other Lab experiencewillbe considered)
• Ability to interpret scientific data including sensory and analytical results
• Desire and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with external and internal customers
• High degree of ownership and professional commitment
• Proven success multitasking in a fastpaced environment
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to manage challenging projects and situations.
• High level of communication presentation and collaboration skills across levels and functions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Curiosity and innovative thinking
• Experience with SAP product formulary and retrieval systems
• Culinary interest and/or related training
• Familiarity with sensory testing and applying sensory testing to the product development process
