Position Overview
Wetland Studies and Solutions Inc. a Davey company is seeking qualified applicants to fill a fulltime permanent Field Supervisor Archeologist position in our Gainesville office. The pay rate for this positionis competitive and dependent on experience with opportunities for advancement.
Job Duties
Responsibilities will include:
- Management of archeological fieldwork including Phase I II and III excavations archeological cemetery delineations and archeological recovery of human remains
- Ensuring work quality and adherence to schedule and budget for diverse archeological projects from field survey to report production
- Preparation of draft plans and reports
- Conducting archeological research
- Assisting with proposals and interacting with clients agency staff and contractors
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- An advanced degree in Archeology or a closely related field and at least one 1 year of experience in the management of archeological field projects
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to travel (per diem and lodging will be provided on projects more than approximately 90 miles from the office)
- Physical ability to perform rigorous fieldwork in all settings and weather conditions
- Possession of a valid drivers license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
- At least three 3 years of experience in the management of archeological field projects in the MidAtlantic or Southeastern region
- Applied knowledge of federal state and local cultural resource laws and regulations
- RPA
