Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions Inc. a Davey company is seeking qualified applicants to fill a fulltime permanent Field Supervisor Archeologist position in our Gainesville office. The pay rate for this positionis competitive and dependent on experience with opportunities for advancement.

Job Duties

Responsibilities will include:

  • Management of archeological fieldwork including Phase I II and III excavations archeological cemetery delineations and archeological recovery of human remains
  • Ensuring work quality and adherence to schedule and budget for diverse archeological projects from field survey to report production
  • Preparation of draft plans and reports
  • Conducting archeological research
  • Assisting with proposals and interacting with clients agency staff and contractors

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • An advanced degree in Archeology or a closely related field and at least one 1 year of experience in the management of archeological field projects
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Willingness to travel (per diem and lodging will be provided on projects more than approximately 90 miles from the office)
  • Physical ability to perform rigorous fieldwork in all settings and weather conditions
  • Possession of a valid drivers license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • At least three 3 years of experience in the management of archeological field projects in the MidAtlantic or Southeastern region
  • Applied knowledge of federal state and local cultural resource laws and regulations
  • RPA
