Senior SQL Server Middleware DBA remote

What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior SQL Server & Middleware DBA. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation of SQL Server databases and middleware applications supporting the businesss data needs. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining SQL Server databases and middleware applications to ensure their availability performance and security. This role involves working closely with various business and application teams to support a wide range of applications from highvolume OLTP systems to middleware services. This can be remote for the right candidate!

How you will do it

• Installing configuring and maintaining SQL Server databases and middleware applications. This includes monitoring performance troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to optimize performance.

• Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. This includes performing regular backups testing recovery procedures and managing disaster recovery plans.

• Implementing security measures to protect databases and middleware applications from unauthorized access and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.

• Applying patches and updates to SQL Server databases and middleware applications to ensure they are uptodate and secure.

• Analyzing and optimizing database and middleware performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks tuning queries and optimizing indexes.

• Working closely with application teams to understand their requirements and provide database and middleware support. This includes participating in project planning providing technical guidance and ensuring databases and middleware meet application needs.

What you will need
Required

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or similar technical field.

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration and middleware applications including installation configuration backup and recovery security and performance tuning.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database and middleware issues quickly and effectively.

• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with business and application teams.

• 7 years of experience in SQL Server database administration and middleware applications preferably in a large and complex environment.

• Knowledge of Apache Tomcat Weblogic Bitwise.

• This role may require oncall support and occasional afterhours work to perform system maintenance or upgrades.
