Description

Network Engineer

As required by our governmental client this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance to be considered.

The Network Engineer will execute operations maintenance and engineering of network infrastructure devices and applications. It will require you to execute installation activities interface with network operations project team members and with customers to resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations. You will support requirements analysis design efforts engineering operations and maintenance (O&M). Additionally you will provide subject matter expertise and innovation regarding networking technologies and be a part of a team charged with delivery of technology solutions and optimization of IT infrastructure and operations throughout the systems support life cycle.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Network Engineer: $95000 to $110000.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical Dental Vision 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Network Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Support customer interface requirements analysis and development of policies procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Complete assigned tasks independently or as part of a larger project team.
  • Configure network infrastructure device operating systems determine hardware specifications and validate system performance.
  • Execute performance tuning operational process development and security configuration management in accordance with best practices standards and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain network infrastructure devices including but not limited to patching system upgrade backup and system configuration.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine the real or underlying cause of an incident in order to prevent future recurrences.
  • Support analysis triage and break/fix of infrastructure systemrelated trouble tickets.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and best practices in the technical repository.
  • Produce detailed network design documents and diagrams.
  • Support management reporting requirements.
  • This position will require occasional afterhours support and oncall rotation to support operational needs.
  • Some limited travel required <10.
  • Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Network Engineer Experience Education Skills Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline. Four years of work experience can be substituted for bachelors degree.
  • Prior experience with industry technologies and industry standards for enterprise networks to include TCP/IP infrastructure and other IPenabled technologies.
  • Must have additional 5 years of experience with various network operating systems appliances and applications in an enterprise environment.
  • Current industry certifications for networking and security products (CCNP JNCIP CISSP Security are some examples) or ability to obtain it within 12 months.
  • Preferred qualifications include DoD 8570 certifications compliant with CSSPIS (CEHCSA GICSP SSCP).
  • Intermediate to expert level network troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes.
  • Strong to Intermediate knowledge of the following technologies infrastructure planning knowledge (power cooling cabling etc).
  • Intermediate knowledge of network switching and routing configurations.
