You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJoin Iowa State University as a Negotiator I and be part of a team dedicated to advancing innovation research commercialization and technology transfer. In this role you will manage departmental portfolios negotiate terms with commercial entities and facilitate industryfunded research partnerships. Your responsibilities include drafting and executing contracts ensuring compliance with intellectual property regulations and government policies and providing guidance to faculty and staff on regulatory matters.
Candidates with industry experience or a strong background in contract negotiation procurement or industry agreements are encouraged to apply. As a key contributor you will help streamline internal agreement processes and navigate complex legal challenges that directly impact the universitys research partnerships.
Example of Duties
Reviews drafts negotiates and executes contracts and agreements related to Nondisclosure Material Transfer Data Use and Sponsored Activity.
Works closely with the Commercialization Team on identifying business opportunities related to Intellectual Property and incorporates those opportunities into industry contracts.
Facilitates incorporation of suggested contract changes with subject matter experts in the areas of Export Control Information Technology Security Accounting and others.
Serves as a resource to assist faculty and staff on regulation and policy issues to sponsored projects such as intellectual property ISU systems and confidential information.
Obtains an understanding of the assigned portfolio area to enable communications with the Commercialization Team and Principal Investigators.
Communicates and facilitates discussions with appropriate internal and external stakeholders regarding negotiations and executed agreements including administrative actions on agreements.
Accumulates enters reviews manages and reports on data related to contract negotiation. The data will be entered stored and retrieved from multiple software systems.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
