The Roche Swiss Pension Funds strive for sustainability in the management of their direct real estate portfolio. Today there are many initiatives in place and others still on the design board. In your internship you will help us develop sustainable strategies/programs in the following fields:
Biodiversity: How to implement more biodiverse gardens in our many real estate sites throughout Switzerland (given fixed maintenance costs which are borne by our renters/tenants)
EMobility: Develop a proposal for a strategy and implementation plan to provide and/or promote EMobility on our many sites. Special consideration should be given to the issues regarding provision of charging stations for cars and bicycles.
CO2 Certificates: Analyze the current legal technical and financial situation regarding CO2 certificates in the area of Swiss real estate. As we are committed to reduce our CO2 emissions to net zero by 2050 we will first try to reduce our CO2 footprint as much as possible. However given certain limitations CO2 certificates might still be an important option in the future.
Weisswaren buy or repair: In our 3500 apartments replacing household machines (i.e. washing machines dishwashers etc. is an important cost component. Grey CO2 emissions might potentially be reduced if a significant percentage of these machines could be repaired. An evaluation of the economic technical and logistical aspects of a repairstrategy is needed.
As we are a small team your inputs and ideas will have an immediate impact on our programs and on the sustainability of our real estate portfolio as a whole.
