Caterpillar Inc. seeks Lead Software Engineer at its facility located at 501 Southwest Jefferson Avenue Peoria IL 61630. Lead the UI/frontend design and development of modern cloudbased customer facing CAT Foresight web application by collaborating with architects other frontend and backend teams PO/PM Scrum Master and Engineering Manager stakeholders. Part of a fastmoving global team to build a bestinclass product for Caterpillar dealers worldwide to improve operational efficiency and reduce TCO. Responsible for solution design following modern/standard UI best practices leading the team development activities while contributing handson code development maintenance of technical debt (PRs performance UX improvements Storybook/reusable components NFRetc. leading POCs or major Spikes and help with the refinement of the requirements into technical features & user stories. Collaborate with other frontend/backend leads/teams end to end architects PO/PMs Scrum Masters and Engineering managers. Competent to perform all programming and development assignments without close supervision. Normally assigned more complex aspects of systems work. Contribute to design development and deployment of Caterpillars stateoftheart digital platform. Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution including responding to offshift and weekend support calls. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Mentor junior developers. Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development debugging and testing of application software for accuracy integrity interoperability and completeness. Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and to ensure timely quality results. REQS: This position requires a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Information technology Applied Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of experience in a computer science or related occupation. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: 1 5 years of experience in web application and UI development with JavaScript RESTful API HTML 5 and CSS3; 2 5 years of experience with modern UI frameworks and libraries such as TypeScript React Redux Jest and Webpack; 3 Building new web applications leading major technical POCs and developing higher order reusable UI components such as dashboard widget and custom table; 4 Integration and development with Grafana visualization; 5 Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum) with multiple other teams; 6 UI middleware and mocking technologies and tools like ReduxSaga and Mirage JS; 7 API development tools such as: Swagger and Postman or AWS Cloud automated CICD and BDD with Cucumber. Telecommuting: Up to 4 days/week.
Summary Pay Range:$132101.00 $204720.00
