Assesses treats and documents care of inpatients and outpatients referred for speechlanguage pathology services in compliance with organizational departmental legal regulatory and professional requirements. Organizes and conducts speech therapy programs for acquired communication and cognition and swallowing disorders to restore function maximize independence and prevent or correct disability following disease injury or illness.
Master of Science Arts or Education degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from ASHA accredited institution. Must be licensed in the state of Arizona in SpeechLanguage Pathology. Must have a Certificate of Clinical Competency from ASHA. Adheres to Mayo Clinic Business Professional Dress Code. Adheres to Mayo Clinic and departmental Policies and Procedures. Follows safe work practices. Experience and competence in evaluation and treatment of patients with dysphagia including performing VFSS/MBS. Experience and certification in FEES is desired but not required.
Demonstrates use of appropriate and accurate evaluation or treatment procedures; especially in patients with brain injury and neurogenic communicationcognitive deficits. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of the adolescent adult and older adult populations.
*Master of Science Arts or Education degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from ASHA accredited institution.
*Current Arizona licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
* Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing
* Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
