Job Summary:

Job Summary:
The Testing Specialist performs variedand accountable duties that contribute to the efficient operation of theTesting and Assessment Center. This position is responsible for administeringmonitoring and record keeping for a variety of tests/assessments and providesexcellent customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Administer and proctor exams of various types strictly adhering to guidelines set by faculty and/or other testing organizations.
  2. Obtain/maintain annual certifications for test administration.
  3. Responsible for the preparation and registration of various exam services.
  4. Monitors retrieves and responds to all incoming voice and email messages.
  5. With a high degree of accuracy assists with data entry of test scores and test center information.
  6. Acts as a source of information to students faculty staff and the public regarding assessment tests and placement policies requirements and procedures.
  7. Maintain standards and policies for the confidentiality of test scores and materials.
  8. Maintain records and files.
  9. Daily scans fax emails files and mails of various records.
  10. Responsible for maintaining a neat and tidy testing area; responsible for daily/frequent cleaning/disinfecting test room tables computer stations and computers.
  11. Responsible for monitoring/reporting/storing of supply stock and various literature/study materials stock with biweekly reporting to the director and/or assessment technicians.
  12. Assist in opening and/or closing procedures.
  13. Regular nontardy attendance is an essential function of this position. Must be agreeable to nonflexible scheduling.
  14. Must be available to work all testing center hours to deliver all exams including occasional late night or Saturday administrations.
  15. Completes all mandatory training and two professional developments per year.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Associate degree or 1 year of college with the completion of College Composition I & II and math requirement or 1 years administering exams in a test center
Cannot be a student/perspective student in a health science program.

Work Experience:

  • At least two years of responsible work experience in a customerfocused environment in various platforms such as in person online and through email.
  • Work experience with computer systems and applications on a computer.
    Requirement for eligibility to deliver all exams is 21 years old.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to exchange information give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students faculty staff and community partners.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to be able to respond to the dynamic testing environment with consistent application of exam specific guidelines keeping test security.
  • Maintain accurate test files student test attempts and records of faculty and student transactions according to Test Center policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers fax machines scanners internet Microsoft Office (Word Excel Access PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
    Ability to read and interpret complex written records such as regulations and instructional materials.
  • Basic math and time conversion skills.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
  • Demonstrated coordination planning and organizational skills.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under moderate levels of stress imposed by frequent deadlines peak workloads and public/student contact.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSUOKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous testing experience in a highereducational setting.
  • Knowledge of ACT ACCUPLACER CLEP HESI TEAS Pearson VUE testing programs helpful.
  • Associate/bachelors degree

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact in person by telephone via email and various communication platforms.
  • During peak testing periods must be able to handle high volume of phone calls emails and inquiries.
  • Must be comfortable being quiet in a quiet testing environment observing people.

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require clear vision up close at a distance and color vision as well as exceptional hearing with the ability to hear soft whispers.
  • Duties require extended periods of sitting standing talking listening and computer usage.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs. OSUOklahoma City requires this to be a twoperson lift).
