About the role

Rabobank has an opening for a Senior Manager COO Risk & Compliance This role is structured within the First Line Risk & Security Team within Rabobanks COO Domain.

As the Senior Manager COO Risk & Compliance you will report to the Head of First Line Risk & Security. You will collaborate with the broader COO Management Team to drive a robust risk culture & bestinclass risk & compliance practices across the COO Domain. This includes operational & technology risk in the Operations & Middle Office teams Technology teams as well as Vendor Management Continuous Improvement & First Line Risk & Security. You will lead a small team of dedicated Risk & Compliance Managers & Analysts.

This is a highvisibility position where youll have the chance to influence & shape risk & compliance strategies across a breadth of risk & compliance areas. You will join a highly engaged team who work a hybrid mix of in the office & from home.

Top Role Accountabilities:

  • Champion a risk culture within the division
  • Coordinate the development & implementation of appropriate 1st line reporting & monitoring of the Risk Management Framework for the within the division
  • Lead develop & mentor a small team of Risk Analysts & Managers
  • Train & mentor the 1st line COO Risk & Compliance team as well as Business Unit personnel on the risk management framework & associated processes
  • Manage stakeholder obligations & ensure that the COO Domain can meet all their obligations in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to Risk Management Committee (RMC) Board Risk & Compliance Committee & global reporting.
  • Lead targeted reviews of specific areas in response to Risk & Compliance Management information or requests from various stakeholders
  • Support the business in implementing the Compliance obligations as determined by the Compliance Department
  • Liaise coordinate & work with the 2nd line Risk Management functions
  • Proactively supporting business decision making & contributing to a solid business approach to Risk and Compliance Management matters
  • Working with the Head of First Line Risk & Security to incorporate & implement the requirements of the Operational Risk Management Framework & Compliance Framework into daytoday business activities

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience of working in a Risk or Compliance team with or working within a business unit in a role with Risk or Compliance responsibilities
  • An understanding of risk & compliance management within the financial services industry & related regulatory standards (Basel II Privacy AML/CTF & APRA Prudential Standards
  • An understanding if IT risk management & IT operational risk
  • An understanding of banking & finance operations including wholesale banking
  • Experience in managing & evaluating risk
  • People management experience with a focus on coaching & team development highly regarded
  • Excellent leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written verbal & interpersonal)
  • Experience in managing stakeholders & engaging with senior management & business commercial teams
