RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC) is a worldrenowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RIMUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
Department / Research Program: Department of Nephrology
The incumbent will conduct a postimplementation assessment of a binational clinical trial in kidney transplantation that was closed early due to issues with feasibility.
This role would be to help evaluate factors that contributed to these issues as well as help develop broad considerations when designing clinical trials in organ transplantation to ensure trial feasibility and completion.
Data collection will entail document review and interviews with the lead and site investigators research staff and potentially some patients at each participating site.
General Duties
Review clinical trial materials
Familiarize with the trial conduct
Prepare REB documents for ethics approval (interview guide recruitment materials protocol etc. revisions and amendments if needed
Conduct data collection
Review and correct AI transcriptions
Conduct data analysis (likely thematic analysis) revisions debriefs and presentation of findings
Prepare the manuscript and assist with revisions.
Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: Sociology or a related field
Work Experience: >1 year
Professional Membership: Yes No
Expertise in qualitative methods and fluency in English is a must
The applicant must demonstrate experience in preparing and submitting REB submissions and a track record of research publications
Applicant must be collegial and respectful and have meticulous organization skills and excellent communication skills
The ability to converse in French is an asset.
Status : Temporary Occasional
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift: : Variable Schedule 1015 hours per week)
