Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator who is capable of working with multiple teams of engineer and software development personnel to assemble reassemble integrate and install operant systems and application software to build mission systems.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting implementations troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology systems
- Providing system administration services for Linux / UNIX infrastructure and development systems (scripting and loading machines using KickStart system configuration)
- Supporting the build and software integration of new mission systems and supporting architecture under development (client/server/storage/network devices etc.
- Ensuring systems are kept in required configuration profile including patch maintenance changes are required by evolvement of production environments updating software and software configurations
- Configuring and managing UNIX and Windows Operating systems and install/loads operating system software troubleshoot maintains integrity and configures network components along with the implementation operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 10 years of relevant SA experience. Five 5 years of additional SA experience on projects of similar scope may be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Linux System Administrator working with RH Enterprise Linux CENTOS and with DNS and SSH configurations.
- Experience performing applications testing involving/requiring: RedHat Linux or advanced general Linux knowledge; troubleshooting of standard daemons and tools (NFS NTP BIND APACHE SYSLOG logrotate chkconfig init scripts curl general networking etc..
- Familiarization with shell scripting languages such as Rubym KSH BASH and analysis.
- Knowledge of virtualization software
- Maintain scripts for loading machines using KickStart and Puppet manifests and perform/verify system configurations.
- Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
