The Business Development Manager serves as the strategic business development lead for the Multifamily Housing and Public Finance practice groups. The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in growing brand awareness and market revenue through new business development and the management and expansion of new and existing client relationships for the practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality tailored pitch materials and responses to RFPs with meaningful ideas and creativity to shape strategic pursuits.

  • Develops and implements strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective Multifamily Housing and Public Finance clients; includes ideation consensus building and .

  • Develops and maintains collaborative internal relationships and communicates effectively with Multifamily Housing and Public Finance attorneys and other BD/Marketing and Client Experience team members in order to build new client relationships and support the growth of the practices.

  • In collaboration with the firms marketing content and creative team regularly develop compelling practice area content to reflect recent developments and enhanced capabilities.

  • Work with the director and practice leadership to develop and track annual business plans and budgets.

  • Work with firm lawyers to develop individual practice plans and support key initiatives.

  • Working with the firms market and client intelligence team develop client prospect industry competitor and market research/analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.

  • Develop and implement industryfocused strategies and help the practices leverage participation in important industry programs.

  • Identify and execute on crossselling opportunities.

  • Work with the directors and practice leadership to implement lateral integration plans.

  • Work with the firms communications team to effectively promote the successes of the practices including identifying media publishing and speaking opportunities that align with the profileraising objectives of the practices.

  • Develop practice group directory and award submissions for publications like Chambers USA and Legal 500.

  • Update practice collateral (including website) to reflect recent developments and enhanced capabilities.

  • Develop systems to help track progress on practice priorities.

  • Collect matter data for inclusion in the firms experience database.

  • Assist with the coordination of practice group events sponsorships advertisements and speaking engagements.

  • Assist in the development of junior team members; providing consistent feedback and training.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business development credentials including business planning research RFPs and pitches and client development strategies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CRM systems and experience management databases a plus.

  • Strong capacity for networking and generating lasting business development relationships.

  • Strong business development credentials including business planning coaching research and client development strategies.

  • Sound business judgment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Entrepreneurial highly selfmotivated persuasive prioritydriven and collaborative.

  • Strong project and process management experience.

  • Ability to multitask meet deadlines manage ambiguity and perform well under pressure.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant discipline; or any combination of training education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Minimum of seven 7 years of marketing experience preferably with a law firm or professional services firm.
