Position Summary: Application Engineers are the primary technical resources for the domestic and international field sales team and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales proposal process. Working in concert with Design Engineering and the Sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction within the production capability of Bloom through all stages of the sales process. The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships through the sales cycle. Primary Responsibilities: Develop an understanding of product knowledge and application as it relates to the customers requirements Prepare proposals based on input from the sales force to accomplish the customer requirements Become familiar with and operate Bloom Software programs: Bloom NOx Conventional Program Regenerative Program Respond to functional and technical elements of the RFP Listen understand and have the ability to convey customer requirements Maintain all quotes calculations and proposals in an organized manner and ensure that all required material is copied into its assigned folder. Maintain a timesheet of projects being worked on for the various Bloom facilities. Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission values and financial objectives Maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects Travel to customer sites to provide assistance with field service startup integration and training services Desired Characteristics: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Experience working with combustions systems and technology preferred Analytically oriented with strong problem solving capabilities Ability to read architectural mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic mechanical control systems Proficient in AutoCAD and experience in Autodesk Inventor is a plus Relies on instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the functions of the job Comply with environmental laws regulations and company health and safety practices Microsoft Office Outlook Word Excel (intermediate to expert level) Initiative to drive continuous improvement within the department and companywide Energetic curious resourceful highly creative and selfmotivated Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fastmoving and sometimes ambiguous environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage cross functionally
