Support Workers

Middlesbrough/Hurworth

Full time & Part time hours available

Due to being seen as a preferred provider supporting people with Autism SJOG has developed new services in several areas these are new packages of support. Do you have a passion to support people live their best lives possible Then we are looking for you!

We are looking to recruit Support Workers to provide support and assistance for those with Autism. Currently supporting within a Hospital setting whilst we support the transition of the individuals to their own homes. This involves close multiagency working.

There will be the requirement to work day and night shifts on a rotational basis including weekends. You will be providing care to those we support with daily living including tasks such as but not limited to: Personal care Cooking Shopping Cleaning and help them participate into their community.

Criteria:

  • QCF 3 in Adult Health and Social Care or willing to work towards.
  • Understanding people with Autism in either a work or personal environment
  • Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities
  • Full clean driving licence is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills being able to confidently communicate with those we support colleagues professionals and families
  • Excellent written communication skills proven experience in writing reports and accurate notetaker.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently being able to work flexibly when required (example nights weekends) to suit the needs of those we support
  • Sleep Overs may be required depending on the person being supported.
  • Able to provide personal care
  • Honesty able to work to integrity and act in the best interests of those we support
  • Motivated able to stay resilient and be comfortable working with those who have complex needs.
