ABOUT THE ROLE
Senecas School Partnership Programs is hiring for a School Therapist to guide grades 912th to success at LatitudeHigh School in Oakland CA. School Therapists are integrated into the school community where you will provide healingcentered individual and family therapy casemanagement services and conduct mental health assessments. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with caregivers teachers counselors and school leadership to ensure and celebrate the success of youth and families in a school setting.
ABOUT THE UE LIGHT THE CHANGE PROGRAM
Senecas Unconditional Education Light the Change Program partners with 8 charter schools in Oakland; including charter management networks Education for Change Lighthouse Community Public Schools and Envision Academy. Our goal is to provide essential mental health services to youth in grades Kindergarten 12th in their neighborhood. We provide targeted early interventions to help students overcome behavioral and emotional challenges while minimizing referrals to a more restrictive school environment. Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team including teachers counselors specialists and program leadership
- Provide individual group and family therapy as well as case management for a caseload of schoolreferred students
- Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs
- Provide crisis intervention including risk screening assessment triage and service linkage
- Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach
- Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services inform team decision making and/or engage in service billing
- Foster a positive school culture by participating in activities that celebrate success and promote joy including small groups classroom and schoolwide events
- Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student including other Seneca programs or outside agencies
- Utilize crisis communication and deescalation techniques as per Senecas crisis response training
This may include intervening with the students behavioral program through physical management
Qualifications
- Education/Experience requirements:
- Masters degree in social work marriage and family therapy professional clinical counseling or psychology
- Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS required
- Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locations
- TB test clearance fingerprinting clearance and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Must show proof of COVID19 vaccination
Schedule
- School based schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM 4:30 PM
- 5 weeks of paid time off 11 paid holidays and 14 paid school break days

- Starting at $71080 $85080per year
- Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
- $2000 signon bonus (for new Seneca employees in this position)
- Salary increases each year
- $4000 salary increase upon licensure
- Additional compensation provided upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam
