Job Summary:
As AVP Commercial Real Estate Lending you will lead a highperforming team focused on financing largescale real estate projectsup to $150 millionacross Ontario and British Columbia. Partnering with credit unions you will drive portfolio growth while ensuring strong risk management profitability and service excellence.
Overseeing a team of Directors Regional Managers and Credit Officers you will shape and execute lending strategies enhance service delivery and maintain highquality portfolio performance. With substantial growth expected over the next three years this role offers an exciting opportunity to expand market impact and strengthen industry relationships.
What youll be doing:
Provide leadership and management of the commercial lending origination and underwriting group.
Establish goals develop and implement strategies that meet or exceed Centrals sales and revenue objectives while improving the overall quality and customer satisfaction ratings of the department.
Oversee the activities of a small team of senior underwriters each with an assigned portfolio to ensure appropriate performance goals and objectives are set and met within Central 1s standards and risk parameters
Establish and oversee the development and implementation of lending standards and administrative process to provide a consistent level of customer service to credit unions and their members.
Within regulatory guidelines establish and implement ap propriate management policies procedures and parameters that ensure consistent portfolio profitability within acceptable risk tolerances.
Working with the credit unions responsible for the origination and underwriting of new commercial loans the day to day delivery of commercial lending services to the credit unions and their members and general business development duties in their specified region. Plans develops and implements commercial lending programs and services offered to member credit unions member cooperatives other affiliated organizations and business entities.
Should an assigned portfolio of accounts be maintained the incumbent will coordinates financial analysis and presentation materials on loan requests and work with the host credit union and their members to ensure all requisite information is on hand to complete loan reviews. Provide site reports together with other relevant information to expedite the completion of the underwriting at Central.
Develop marketing strategies and materials that promote Centrals capabilities in commercial and mortgage lending and services to its member credit unions member cooperatives other affiliated organizations and business entities
What youll have:
A college or university degree in finance or a related field business administration accounting economics etc. or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 1012 years commercial real estate lending experience in a business development role in the financial services industry.
Strong technical background in underwriting real estate credits in large project financing market .Demonstrated ability to source new business and negotiate credit facilities that adhere to the risk parameters and pricing requirements of Central and the Credit Unions.
Demonstrated success in creating and implementing sound business development strategies with clearly defined revenue growth and profitability objectives. Ability to initiate and develop profitable business relationships with and through others
Welldeveloped leadership mentoring and general management skills acquired in a commercial lending/sales environment.
Prior experience in leading motivating and mentoring a team of qualified account managers to realize business objectives in a regulated and structured environment.
Assumes the local presence and accountability for Centrals commercial lending department in the designated portfolio.
Provide ongoing guidance and support to credit union lenders and senior management in creditgranting and loan portfolio analysis and management.
Maintain an open dialogue with member credit unions to ensure appropriate standards are maintained and continue to reflect the changing business circumstances and risk appetite of both Central and its members.
Provides direct consulting services to individual credit unions on their members loan requirements. Provides assistance to facilitate individual credit unions portfolio growth and where facility size warrants may attend meetings with their members to develop workable credit solutions either for new credit relationships or for restructuring a problem credit situation.
Develop and manage relationships with other strategic partners and/or other financial institutions. Provides support in the establishment and maintenance of strategic product alliances with other financial institutions in the designated territory (e.g. FCC and BDC) to enable member credit unions to expand their commercial and mortgage marketing capabilities.
Assists in the development implementation of new commercial lending products with credit unions within the designated territory. Recommends policy changes.
Performs other duties special projects and assignments as the need arises
Salary range: $161000$185000
The salary range representsthe job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant jobrelated factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
