Job Description

Job Title: Locum Paediatric Acute Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: 6/7
Location: Oxford
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months (Full/Parttime available)
Rate: 28 34 per hour

Opening Paragraph:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Paediatric Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Oxford Childrens Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist therapy in a fastpaced acute paediatric setting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients managing complex cases and contributing to the delivery of highquality care. With flexibility for both fulltime and parttime positions this role offers a unique chance to advance your skills and work within a dynamic supportive team.

Responsibilities:
As a Locum Paediatric Acute Speech and Language Therapist you will be responsible for assessing diagnosing and treating children with acute communication and feeding disorders including dysphagia. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver individualized therapy plans ensuring the best outcomes for each patient. Your role will involve managing a varied caseload providing therapy for children with complex feeding and swallowing difficulties and educating families on care strategies. You will also be expected to work independently and manage complex cases effectively while ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Acute paediatric hospital experience.
  • Level C or above competency in dysphagia therapy.
  • Postgraduate experience working within the field of paediatric feeding.
  • Experience in assessing and treating paediatric communication and feeding disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
