Job Description

Position Title: Information Systems Analyst
Department: Coady Institute
Position Type: Fulltime 3Year Term
Classification: MPE Band D
Salary Range: $54795 $.5 hours/week)

Position Description

This position is responsible for the management oversight and assessment of Coadys data information systems for tracking participation in Coady programs (educational offerings as well as project partnerships and graduate engagement) to ensure accuracy consistency and integrity of the records contained within. The analyst works in collaboration with STFX Online and the STFX Registrars Office for the coordination of data between and among systems used including Moodle CampusLogin and other relevant IT.

The impact of this position extends to Coady program staff and participants as well as the Monitoring and Evaluation team in the Institute as well as administrative units that provide service to participants. This position drives the accuracy and reliability of data used in reports by key stakeholders across the institution and beyond as required.

This position provides input and advice to the Manager of Operations and Director of Programs regarding current procedures for data collection and management of software and challenges encountered. The position provides support to the Fund Development Manager and Communications team for marketing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge expert on the Campus Login information system including but not limited to configuration access data storage and interaction with other StFX software systems
  • Support the structural development review and implementation of new program architectures and changing requirements to existing programs
  • Responsible for running integrity reports to identify errors and notify users
  • Primary resource for Coady Institute Software
  • Responsible for updating key stakeholders on the creation of new programs and changes to existing program systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity with StFX software programs merging with Campus Login
  • Develop tools and processes for ongoing maintenance of the database.
  • A resource during application cycles with the application design and upkeep.
  • Provide support to the Program team on program information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required in the area of Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Three to five years of experience in the area of data analysis and software
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
