About Slate

Slate is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space.

Who we are looking for: We are looking for a highly skilled and detailoriented General Assembly Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing assembly processes improving efficiency and ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the manufacturing of our products. The General Assembly Process Engineer will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to implement and maintain effective assembly processes.

Central Midwest location in a highly desirable midsize community. Must be willing to relocate to Slate manufacturing plant location. This position is not in Troy MI/Metro Detroit

What you get to do:

  • Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members partners and customers.
  • Develope scope and RFI for assembly processes
  • Analyze and evaluate existing assembly processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement efficient assembly procedures and workflows.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability of products.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to vendors for assembly line setup and production
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline assembly processes using a LEAN midset
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for process improvement projects.
  • Work closely with safety teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to meet product specifications.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
  • Document and maintain detailed process documentation including standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
  • Capture and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field. Masters Degree is a plus.
  • 5 years of relevant experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of general assembly processes and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with process optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Experience with implementing automation in assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams to achieve common goals.
