Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The Propulsion team is seeking a Test Technician to join the team to support production acceptance testing of future flight hardware.
The Propulsion Test Technician will work within the Kuiper Propulsion Team on the operation and optimization of electric propulsion test infrastructure. This person will get to perform flight hardware acceptance testing on a variety of different propulsion subsystems including feed systems thrusters cathodes PCBAs tanks as well as the integrated propulsion system.
Key job responsibilities
Perform acceptance testing of spacecraft propulsion systems and subsystems
Support the continued development and improvement of test infrastructure and methods
Support development and review of test processes and procedures
Help ensure a high level of quality is maintained while meeting increasing production rate targets

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $37/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A day in the life
The Propulsion Technician will perform a variety of hardware testing of propulsion subsystems as well as integrated systems to ensure the hardware meets acceptance requirements for flight. They will also work closely with multiple engineering teams to identify process improvements to improve test efficiency. About the team
The Kuiper Propulsion Team is responsible for the design and development of the propulsion system which provides maneuvering capability to the spacecraft. The Propulsion Team is made up of a variety of subteams which are responsible for various aspects of the development process such as mechanical design systems engineering subject matter experts manufacturing and test. This integrated team structure allows direct communication and rapid process feedback while also promoting close collaboration across the team.
High school diploma GED or equivalent work experience
2 years of relevant hardware testing experience
2 years of handson work experience with electronic test equipment such as data acquisition devices oscilloscopes digital multimeters and power supplies
Experience testing aerospace hardware
Experience working with vacuum and/or pressurized gas systems
Experience with test software such as TestStand LabView and Python
Experience with testing of production hardware designed for space environments
Experience building up test racks and infrastructure
Experience working with FOD ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a highpaced challenging work environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70720/year in our lowest geographic market up to $76960/year in our highest geographic market.
