The coordinator of Student Life is responsible for fostering a commitment to student success by actively developing implementing and maintaining programs and services that enrich student learning build and maintain a strong sense of community and support theeducational professional socialand personal development of students at the University of Oklahoma.
This position will assist the Associate Director of Student Life and Director of Student Life in providing vision and strategies to supportstudents and communitiesondaytoday functions of Student Life. Some responsibilities of this role includebut are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
ADVISING
- Serving as the direct advisor fordepartmental student organizationsin Student will include regular meetings(weekly/biweekly/monthly)with executive boards and individual meetings with members of executive and leadership boardsand community members.
- Counsels students facilitates support groups and advises student organizations
- Servingas the primary advisor for theHispanic AmericanStudent Association and secondary support advisor to all departmental student groupsadvised byStudent Life.
- May coordinate or assist in the coordination of special projects or student related events.
- Assist in response to crisis and student wellbeing concerns and connect students to appropriate campus resources.
PROGRAMMING
- Develop and implement curriculum(curricular approach for higher education)around student learning centered educational initiatives and content to promote wellbeing community and leadership.
- Conduct workshops seminars classes and other special programs for students.
- Craft and facilitate community standards and risk prevention initiatives such as policies and procedures accountability processes officer development strategic plans and data analysis and research.
- Facilitate effective recruitment and intake processes to meet community needs and goals while ensuring compliance with university and organization guidelines.
ASSESSMENT
- Overall assessment of programs and services.
- Assessing the needs of students and developing and implementing targeted programs and services.
- Researching collecting and analyzing data or information and preparing reports or responses to inquiries.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Maintaining records (student files inventory officer rosters community rosters other office files etc.)and student groups guiding documents (bylaws policies etc.
- Serving as a liaisonto cultivate productive and authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Managingdaytoday operationsincludingbudget oversightand financial record keeping.
- Supervisinga graduate assistant/student assistant(s).
- Maintainingwebsites(via CMS) social media and other promotional engagement platforms (OU Engage)and designstudent newsletters brochures handbooks and other publications.
ADDITIONAL
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree
Equivalency/ Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree.

- Strong group and oneonone advisingandcoachingwith an emphasis on student development.
- Conduct themselves at all timeswith the highest levels of personal and professional integrity.
- Developing and implementing efficient budgetscost saving solutions and longterm financial savings and investment strategies.

- Ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projectsand deadlinessimultaneously.

- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
- Maybe required to work irregular hours (outside of normal business hours) due to student programs and event
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Departmental Preferences:
- Masters degree in higher education administration student affairs or a related field
- Experience working with underserved student populations.
