Human Resources Manager
Based in San Jose CA Boston MA or Portland OR
If youre often thinking I could do so much more in a company that does not cling to the status quo we want to hear from you.
Were going to do our best in describing this HR position but keep in mind were growing and we want someone who can help us with our growth. The person we hire will have the latitude to find new ways to contribute to the agency. We envision someone with 35 years of true HR generalist experience and accustomed to working within a professional services organization that really values the employee experience within a high performing environment.

Communications consultancies typically measure their account professionals based on billability the amount of their time that is charged to clients. Weve never gone down this path believing if you hire people with the right intangibles selfdriven collaborative caring and curious and focus on delivering the best product to the client financial performance should come along for the ride (as opposed to being the lead pin).
We entered 2025 on a roll. PRovoke Media shortlisted us for Global Tech Agency of the Year and PRWeek shortlisted us for Tech Agency of the Year. Weve grown over the last couple of years in both revenue and headcount. Of course none of this happens without hiring and retaining people who push beyond the status quo (theres that noun again).
Thats where the HR manager comes in.

Back to the big picture the role focuses on all areas of HR including recruitment and retention of employees:
- Recruitment and onboarding new employees (including managing our intern program)
- Managing our performance management processes
- Overseeing the administration of learning and development programs
- Participating with the global HR team in utilization and full implementation of Bamboo HR and Lattice systems
- Advancing our employee experience Geeks @ Heart
This might sound like a big job but you wont be alone. Beyond the Agencys leadership team youll be able to tap the experience of our senior HR consultant Mindy Gikas and our global HR team.
Qualities to Succeed in the Role

- Can infuse some new thinking into strengthening our culture (as some people work remotely and some can work in office)
- Curious
- Needs to be wellorganized juggling many activities at once
- Enjoys connecting with people; has a natural gift for building rapport and trust with others
- Experience and exposure to all areas of HR including recruiting (all levels from entry to VP) benefits compensation employee relations etc.
- Familiarity with key HR platforms is preferred specifically Bamboo HR and Lattice
- Ideally has experience in a communications agency or a professional services firm but not a requirement
- Will immerse yourself in our world to deeply understand both the business of communications and what makes us tick as a company
- Must be able to work onsite 23 days a week) at one of our 3 locations
