Commissioned in 2016 the natural gasfired combinedcycle power plant is a key resource thathelps PGE to serve existing customer energy needs maintain system reliability and meet growing demand for electricity in the decades ahead. The plant has a baseload capacity of 440 MW and can produce enough electricity to serve about 300000 residential customers.

Boardman is a rapidly growing community in northeastern Oregon along the banks of the beautiful Columbia River. Primarily an agricultural community Boardman is a major hub for transportation of manufactured goods. Our city is located along Interstate 84 at exits 164 and 165.


In this role youll provide functional and economical engineering solutions to operations and maintenance problems through the improvement and maintenance of plant safety reliability efficiency and regulatory compliance in a responsible and progressive manner. Youll maintain and improve the operation reliability safety and regulatory compliance of the companys generating resources. Plant maintenance engineering interacts with multiple engineering disciplines is typically staffed by an electrical or mechanical engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Standards:

Maintains currency in stateoftheart engineering practices and provides guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards to colleagues when requested. Supports plant improvements with extended knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and local codes and standards. Applies knowledge to investigate identify and clearly define plant problems and applies knowledge of the plant and plant control systems and processes to determine and deliver engineering improvements on proposed equipment and systems Provides technical guidance and support to other engineers and contractors.

Engineering Production:

Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; coordinates multiple discipline activity. Develops and provides quality assurance reviews of maintenance engineering solutions that meet technical requirements all applicable codes regulatory requirements and follow sound engineering practice. Maintains and reviews plant design basis documents.

Project Coordination:

Actively coordinates with other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects including representing the team to interdepartmental and external (regulatory) stakeholders. Plans develops and coordinates projects with complex design construction operation maintenance or testing elements in support of plant maintenance engineering projects. Provides accurate capital budget and job estimates.

Knowledge Sharing:

Serves as a technical specialist and provides consultation/guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring; implements resource management strategy. Develops and delivers training of other engineers and crews on operations and maintenance practices and requirements. Provides and coordinates updates on critical safety and reliability topics to operations personnel. Participates in industryrelated events for the purposes of benchmarking and learning about best practices.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Education: Requires a bachelors degree in any applicable engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency

Experience: Five or more years in engineering is preferred.

Certifications Licenses and Training: Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required based upon role.

Compensation Range:

$96300.00 $160500.00

Actual total compensation including a performance based incentive bonus is commensurate with experience skills qualifications education training and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range the decision will be made on a casebycase basis.
