Job Description

Post Purchase and Labor Force System within Fulfillment and Transportation Systems (FTS) has two main missions: 1 provide the best post purchase experience to Coupang customers including but not limited to order cancellation order return order exchange and customer support and 2 provide the best experience to our employees from hiring time management to benefit support and much more. The post purchase domain is one of the most visited and critical web domain within Coupang. We build tools and services with stateofart technology to make our mission reality. We strive to improve our offerings and solutions continuously through operational excellence and engineering excellence.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineering leader who can champion the design and development of our services drive alignment with leadership and stakeholders influence and build trust with teams and execute delivery of complex systems considering scalability future extensibility and reliability.The desired candidate will help building the world class systems and bring innovations both in the frontend and backend systems. The work will require the outofthebox thinking to bring the current customer experience to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive architecture design of Post Purchase & LFS for scale future extensibility and reliability
  • Envision and drive alignment with stakeholders of the appropriate roadmap and future direction of technology for Post Purchase & LFS
  • Navigate and alleviate technical obstacles and blockers at the organizational level
  • Decompose complex problems into simple straightforward solutions providing mechanisms for the teams to prioritize ruthlessly and move with urgency.
  • Write code when necessary to lead by example and help with high priority projects
  • Proactively identify opportunities in both business and technology
  • Review advise and carry out the adoption of new technology (both opensource and commercial) that are useful in achieving business objectives
  • Recruit and develop worldclass engineering talent

Qualifications

  • 13 years of experience in software development at big technology companies
  • Solid track record of delivering large and complex systems with significant business impact
  • Experience of designing and developing largescale distributed systems and architectures
  • 7 years of experience in developing and operating backend services and web applications
  • Broad and deep understanding of key technologies in storage data processing and servers
  • Excellent communications and collaborations across teams and across functionalities
  • Capable of objectoriented design and development
  • Strong familiarity developing with Java and the Spring Framework
  • Strong familiarity with the best practices in operational excellence.
  • Service development and operational experience in an AWS environment
  • Experience driving improvements in code quality
  • Experience in one of the the modern front end technologies such as React and Angular.
  • Experience using ORM such as JPA Hibernate and domain modeling
  • Experience with logisticsrelated service development
  • Experience in automating build/test/deploy
  • Experience with bulk data processing using NoSQL solutions
  • Experience with Git system for version control
  • Experience with relational and columnoriented databases
  • Agile experience
