Oxford LearningCalgary Sage Hillhas an opening for an upbeat passionate committed enthusiastic and dynamic French teacher who seeks work in a rewarding teaching environment. Our French Programs offer individual support to students looking to improve their academic skills and study habits. Candidates must possess a strong passion for seeing students succeed and must be comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade8 in French.

Tutorteachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class as all lessons are preplanned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All TeacherTutors at Oxford Learning work during afterschool and evening hours4:00 pm 8:00 pm)as well as Saturdays 10:00am 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the termin June is preferred.Continuing through the summer is even better.Your students will love working with you and being reliable is a must.Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 8 level. The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French.

This role is inperson. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Bachelors degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• University students with tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current elementary French core curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at an elementary school (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching online and inperson
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in postlesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Salary: $17 / hour

• Evenings
• Monday to Friday
• Saturday availability
• 310 hours per week
