Senior Consultant Financial Instruments and Technology

As a market leader in providing illiquid portfolio analysis our Alternative Asset Management professionals assist clients in the valuation of alternative investments specifically for securities and portfolios of whole loans for which there are no active market quotations available.Our professionals have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects with exposure to the bespoke investment structures and asset classes of our institutional investor clientele.

Krolls Financial Instruments & Technology (FITS) (complex securities valuation) professionalswork on a variety of challenging assignments in which we improve our clients ability to identify measure control diversify mitigate and/or exploit risk. The team applies sophisticated mathematical models and innovative processes to design and evaluate complex financial instruments and whole loans drawing upon the latest developments in mathematics computer science and finance theory. These approaches are married with applications that apply market experience and current data and conditions. Our clients gain understanding of complex issues and an ability to make decisions based on rigorous analysis and deep expertise rather than best guesses resulting in an enhanced ability to achieve their goals.

Kroll is looking for a Senior Consultant who will be involved in providing support to our global valuation practice. The opportunity is ideal for professionals who use global best practices tools and techniques by working on valuation engagements for global clients.

Daytoday responsibilities:

The Senior Consultant will assist on a range of valuation advisory services to the alternative asset community and gain exposure to exciting the esoteric nature of such positions. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets valuation theory methodologies applications and fundamentals of constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models and the financial theory underlying the models including using DCF & market approaches montecarlo and other structured investment models
  • Experience with credit analysis structured securities and whole loan valuation experience is a plus: RMBS CMBS ABS etc. Intex Bloomberg Andrew Davidson & Co. other tools
  • Assist in building longterm client relationships through exceptional client service including a deep understanding of the client and their needs exceptional responsiveness and the delivery of the highest quality service and work product
  • Developing deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets serving as a firm resource for that expertise and sharing that knowledge through training and mentoring
  • Assist in the managing of client engagements from daytoday interaction with the client through to staffing and managing the resources and work plan through to timely completion
  • Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit
  • Project management including client interviewing engagement economics team management report writing research and tracking market and industry information
  • Model building and reviewing DCF models comparable company models stock option models financial instrument and loan valuations

Essential traits:

  • Minimum of 58 years of valuationrelated work experience in financial services
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Accounting or Economics or equivalent thereof (e.g. CFA); or MBA from an accredited college/university
  • Proven technical skills proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including managing and developing client relationships as well as mentoring and developing staff
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills comfortable speaking with senior management and in front of an audience
