Job Description
St. Andrew by the Bay Parish located in Annapolis seeks candidates for a Preschool Teacher. We are seeking a caring patient and creative teacher to join our early childhood education team specifically working with children aged 23. The ideal candidate will create a nuturing and stimulating environment that supports the developmental milestones of toddlers fostering their physical emotional social and cognitive growth through structured activities and play. This is a nonbenefit eligible position working 9 hours per week. Part time 8:30am 11:45am.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement ageappropriate lesson plans that promote early learning and social skills.
- Encourage childrens curiosity through creative activities songs stories and handson projects.
- Provide consistent care and supervision ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Support childrens emotional development by creating a warm responsive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Foster positive relationships with children helping them develop trust and a sense of security.
- Assist children with basic needs such as toileting dressing and feeding while promoting independence.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and improve educational programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom that supports learning and safety.
- Communicate with parents regularly about their childs progress activities and any concerns.
- Monitor and document each childs development noting any significant milestones or areas of concern.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; and 90 hour childcare certification; associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development welcomed.
- Previous experience working with young children especially in a group care setting.
- Creativity in planning engaging activities.
- Ability to create a positive safe and nuturing environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children parents and team members.
- Patience empathy and a genuine love for working with young children.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
Range: $16.00 Hourly
