Join Lancashire County Council as an Environmental Planning Officer

Shape the future of transport in Lancashire by becoming a crucial part of our multidisciplinary team working on major transport planning applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for planning applications.
  • Produce supporting documents for Environmental Statements and Habitat Regulations Assessments.
  • Provide environmental advice on planning applications and discharge of planning conditions.
  • Review documentation from specialists to make informed recommendations

What were looking for:

  • Youll have experience of working within a planning team it would be great if you also understand the principles of EIA coordination and environmental planning policies. It would be hugely beneficial if you also held a degree in planning or an environmental field.
  • You be confident using specialised systems and GIS mapping software
  • Youll have excellent communication skills. Youll be able to explain technical issues to nontechnical stakeholders and use your expertise to influence decision making
