You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position performs midlevel accounting work of some complexity and requires a critical mind and an eye for detail. This position researches and resolves matters of fiscal procurement fixed assets and other issues for the Accounting Division. This position prepares financial and investment reports and statements.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Financial management: Analyzing preparing monitoring extracting collecting explaining interpreting and reporting on revenue and expenditure data from all fund sources; monitoring and reporting of variances in financial position. Performing reconciliations research and analysis to resolve complex financial issues; reporting on trends inconsistencies anomalies outliers and missing pieces.
Assist the Tax Accountant III and the SelfInsurance Specialist during heavy work seasons. Act as a backup to both the Admin Fund and Special Fund depositors during times of heavy volume and during their absence from the office.
Investment Managemet: Generate and distribute the monthly investment committee package.
Helping to develop leading and lagging metrics for the Accounting Division. Initiating coordinating and implementing continuous quality improvement processes; establishing and documenting standard work; documenting workfiows; identifying problems and collaborate on finding solutions.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of governmental accounting and fiscal principles.
2. Knowledge of principles and practices of business administration including organization theory and management fiscal management and budgetary control.
3. Knowledge of statistical analysis and theory.
4. Knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
5. Knowledge of report writing techniques.
6. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
Skills:
1. Skill with Excel or Google Sheets.
2. Skill in data mining and management.
3. Skill in applying principles concepts practices methods and techniques of accounting budget and fiscal analysis.
4. Skill in presenting written and oral facts and recommendations in a clear concise and consistent matter for both financial and nofinancial audiences.
6. Skill in successfully negotiating interpersonal relationships in a work setting.

Two years of work experience in a financial environment as an accounting specialist accountant or financial analyst. Or one year of experience with a Bachelors degree in Accounting or similar degree.
