Job Description
Are you a dynamic and inspiring leader with a passion for creating vibrant communities for older people. If you are an experienced Extra Care or housing manager with a background in working with older people and mixed tenures you may be just the person we are looking for. This role offers the perfect platform for an ambitious leader to help create a welcoming and enriching environment where people can truly flourish.
Village 135 is a large modern stylish community with 135 homes designed for those over 55 who need an extra care environment. Homes are available for sale shared ownership and rent. You will be working alongside our current manager to guide the service forging close relationships with the local authority care providers and other partners to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Youll help keep our extra care scheme thriving by coordinating topnotch housing management support care bistro management and other onsite services. Our goal is to make residents feel valued promote independent living and foster a sense of community through a great customer experience.
Residents can enjoy independent living in their own private apartments with the peace of mind that comes from having a dedicated onsite care team and security. The Village also offers great communal facilities including a wonderful Bistro Restaurant a relaxing spa bathroom and a Hair & Beauty Salon.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work together with our existing manager to coordinate and lead the team to meet our goals
- Lead manage and inspire our housing teams to provide topquality services to our diverse and bustling community. Always demonstrate professionalism and integrity and make sure the voices of our customers are heard and valued.
- Develop and implement strategies policies and practices to ensure we deliver highquality services efficiently.
- Take joint responsibility for the delivery of our extra care services across a busy multitenure community.
- Take joint responsibility in managing Village 135 and WCHGs extra care services working closely with the local authority to provide housing and wellbeing support.
- Ensure the ongoing success of our extra care schemes by jointly coordinating topnotch housing support care and other onsite facilities.
Located in the desirable Garden City area of Wythenshawe in South Manchester Village 135 is surrounded by shops amenities parks and transport links. We encourage a full and active lifestyle for our residents offering a variety of activities to enrich their lives build friendships and learn new skills.
To excel in this role the successful applicant will need to have completed their CIH qualification or be willing to work towards one during their employment. They will alsoneed the following key skills knowledge and experience:
- Experience managing a busy high density multitenure extra care scheme.
- Uptodate knowledge of social housing laws and practices.
- Familiarity with social housing policies and procedures.
- Understanding of care provision in extra care settings.
- A strong track record in social housing management.
- Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
