DescriptionWe are looking for a 2nd Shift Sr. Laboratory Assistant to join our Sprinklers/Ducts team at our modern facility in Northbrook IL. This role involves handson work with innovative systems supporting the team in testing and evaluating sprinkler and duct components. The position is fully onsite with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM offering the opportunity to contribute in a fastpaced collaborative environment. Responsibilities- Builds and/or adapts unique setup and test equipment for complex tests using independent judgment.
- Applies working knowledge of applicable test requirements and performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
- Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
- Operates a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
- Examines test samples reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
- Reads and interprets blueprints schematics wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
- Determines need for and seeks consultation from engineers or laboratory technicians.
- Analyzes test results.
- Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
- Receives instructions from and reports data to supervisor and personnel in engineering and laboratory operations as needed.
- Prepares data sheets and records observed or calculated test results.
- Assembles test data for appropriate distribution.
- Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications- Higher Secondary Education plus one to two years related experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative.
- Desire to work in a teamoriented environment.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
- Ability to incorporate computer skills into daytoday testing.

The estimatedsalary range for this position is $40000 and $56000 and is based on multiple factors including jobrelated knowledge/skills experience geographical location as well as other factors.This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5 of the base salary.
