OnsiteCollins Aerospace an RTX Business currently has an exciting IT position available that supports the Collins Aerospace mission of making the world a safer place. We are currently seeking a Windows Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative multiplatform and multidisciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures.
The candidates daytoday activities include but are not limited to Windows server management; storage management; file server management; access management; data backup; software and license configuration; and workstation support. Each day in the life of a Systems Administrator can bring something new building a new IT infrastructure for a group of engineers restoring files due to an outage updating virus definitions and security patches teaming with our brilliant engineers on how to improve their processes and more.
** This position is onsite in Cedar Rapids IA. **
What YOU will do:
You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows (Primary OS) and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals to include DNS DHCP AD and Linux integration methods.
Working as a team member in a fastpaced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
Understanding of data RAID data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.
Weekend and afterhours support may be required.
Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree 6 years of relevant experience
An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with security infrastructure products and capabilities.
Must have experience with Windows and Linux/Unix server and workstations.
Experience using VMware vCenter vSphere VDI (Horizon) and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
Experience with Windows architecture deployment administration performance monitoring/tuning security hardening and troubleshooting.
Experience with infrastructure backup restore disaster recovery and business continuity products.
Experience with application installation and multiserver environment/deployment.
Qualifications We Prefer:
An active DoD Top Secret clearance
Security Certification or ability to obtain one within 3 months
Scripting Experience (PowerShell Ansible Python)
Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs.
Experience supporting engineers in software simulations and hardware development.
Critical thinking ability to solve technical problems independently and with collaborative teams.

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
