Guest Service Officer Security Command Center (Part Time Night Shift) JOB PURPOSE: The primary function of this position is to monitor activity on the grounds of the museum during the night shifts and to control persons entering and leaving the Business Entrance. SCHEDULE: Friday 7p 5a Saturday 7p 5a Sunday 7p 5a (schedule is flexible as this person covers paid time off for eve shift) KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Operate security control equipment in the Security Command Center
- Answer the phone and transfer calls when necessary
- Patrol the entire museum (including stairs and ladders) checking offices equipment and alarms; respond to alarms notify emergency services as required
- Escort employees who request assistance to their cars after dark
- Act as primary point of contact for HVAC monitoring
- Monitor security systems
CORE CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS Education/ Experience | - High School diploma or GED required with demonstrated reading and writing proficiency in English; standard computer skills also required.
- A current valid Drivers License.
- Able to interact with the general public and museum staff and follow directions in a polite and courteous manner
- Maintain confidentiality of museum information
- Able to walk the complete building and stand and climb stairs and ladders when making rounds
- Able to respond quickly and correctly to all emergencies to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Able to obtain a city license
Preferred Experience - Prior experience as a NightWatch person or Central Station Operator preferred
- Training in CPR and first aid a plus
