Facilities Maintenance Support Specialist

Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance (FM) Support Specialists purpose is to assist and support the Bay State Community Services management team in completing multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility campus or portfolio of buildings. The position will perform and/or coordinate the maintenance and corrective repair activities for these buildings. The FM Support Specialist typically works between multiple job locations on a daily basis managing an ongoing variety of maintenance activities and projects.

What You Will Doing to Make a Difference at Bay State Community Services....

• Respond to and perform various daytoday maintenance requests emergency requests and preventative maintenance tasks. Complete maintenance and work records as required. May include after hour or weekend support.
• When needed for tradeskilled tasks coordinate with vendors explain requirements seek review and provide a comparative analysis of vendor quotes provide recommendations and coordinate work schedules between vendors and programs.
• Provide reports on open or closed work orders and check the status of work with vendors
• Assist with various inspection activities for program facilities
• Provide updates to management as requested related to the status of work requests
• Provide documentation and written/typed reports of work performed.
• Maintain environmental and safety permits as needed.
• Operate a company vehicle on a daily basis
• Monitor maintenance and test drive program vehicle fleet.
• Maintain cooperative working relations with vendors and coworkers
• Work independently with limited supervision interacting effectively with and quickly gaining the respect and support of staff and vendors.
• Assist with cleaning or other duties as assigned
• Responsible for miscellaneous duties and errands throughout the company as needed

Qualifications/Credentials

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the facility maintenance field is preferred
• Experience managing facility repair or construction projects.
• Experience obtaining and reviewing vendor quotes.

Certifications & Licenses

• A valid drivers license is required
• Must be able to be insured by BSCS insurance company for driving or bonds
• Must be able to pass a background check
