Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer Coop to join our La Porte Technology team! This position will report directly to the La Porte Manufacturing Technology Manager.
As a Chemical Engineer Coop you will work closely with the La Porte Technology team gaining valuable experience through handson projects in a chemical plant. You will have exposure to realtime engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what youve learned in the classroom.
Effective engineering coops will have the ability to communicate with impact have strong selfawareness and will be naturally inquisitive.
Location: La Porte TX
Hours: Regular fulltime schedule of 40 hours per week
Preferred First Term: JanuaryMay 2025
Candidates must be able to commit to at least a total of six 6 months as a coop. Two 2 or more terms may be required.
The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Working with experienced engineering professionals on improvement and expansion projects
Assisting operations and maintenance with troubleshooting root cause analysis and problem solving
Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
The following is for this role:
Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above at time of assignment
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar fields
Familiarity with Microsoft Word Excel and Power Point
The following is preferred for this role:
Participation in relevant activities organizations and projects beyond the classroom
3.0 GPA or above
