Job Description
The Finance Data Engineering team is building the future of our financial data infrastructure. Were seeking an experienced and driven Data Engineer to play a key role in designing developing and automating a robust scalable and SOXcompliant data platform. In this highly impactful role youll collaborate with a dynamic team lead critical projects and build innovative solutions that empower Robloxs finance organization. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution at a leading tech company and report to the Manager of Finance.
You Will:
- Design develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines to ingest process and transform data for various finance use cases (e.g. financial reporting forecasting)
- Ensure data quality throughout the pipeline by implementing validation checks anomaly detection and reconciliation processes to guarantee data accuracy completeness and timeliness.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal finance processes by automating manual tasks streamlining workflows and optimizing data delivery mechanisms.
- Design and implement efficient data storage strategies within Amazon Redshift considering factors such as data volume access patterns and performance requirements.
- Develop and implement automation solutions using scripting languages workflow orchestration tools (Airflow) and other relevant technologies.
- Handle diverse data sources including structured (databases) unstructured (text documents emails) and realtime data streams from APIs.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers data engineers business analysts and finance leadership to gather data requirements understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
You Have:
- 8 years of industry experience in data modeling data analysis building data pipelines and data visualization.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts ETL/ELT processes and data integration techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL)
- Experience with AWS Redshift infrastructure including cluster management performance tuning and security.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for data automation.
- Experience with at least one major clouds suite of offerings (AWS GCP Azure).
- Nice to have experience with Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS Hive Spark etc..
